Centella Asiatica, also known as the ‘Tiger Herb’, or Indian Pennyworth, is a highly restorative plant extract found in certain parts of Asia. Traditionally used for it’s medicinal purposes due to its wound healing nature, it is now widely used across all fields, from culinary to skin care. The discovery of this miraculous plant is alleged to have happened when a Chinese farmer happened across a wounded tiger rolling around in the leaves of the plant in an attempt to heal it’s injuries. This apparently sparked curiosity surrounding the plants healing powers, which inevitably trickled down over many centuries from the medical field to modern day beauty treatments and skin care.
How it Works
This wonder plant is known for its collagen boosting abilities and skin cell renewal. It is for these reasons that makes it a favourable ingredient in skin care products.
